MUST wireless network supports wireless devices (802.11 a/b/g/n) and are available to all officially enrolled MUST students and MUST staffs. In addition, the MUST Guest wireless network is available to guests of the campus. The MUST Wireless Network is available in many campus buildings and some outdoor areas. The MUST Wireless is provided to facilitate and support teaching or academic activities required in the University. The MUST Wi-Fi network is part of the Campus Network which is managed and administered by the ICT. Use of the Wi-Fi network is governed by the guidelines and policies described in this document. WIFI User Rights and Responsibilities Wi-Fi network users have the following rights and responsibilities: - Producing excessive network traffic such as broadcasting and sending massive messages and unsolicited emails is prohibited. - Setting up routing or other special network functions is prohibited. - Development of networking software in Wi-Fi network is prohibited. - Sharing of accounts is prohibited. - Users are responsible at all time for using the Wi-Fi network in a manner that is ethical, legal, and not to the detriment of others. - Users are responsible for any and all activities initiated from their computer. - Users are responsible for the security settings of their computer or notebook systems. - Users have the right to access the campus network and Internet and use applications including e-mail, FTP, Telnet, WWW, news and etc, however some sites are block due to blacklists. - Users of Wi-Fi network whom violate the terms and conditions will result in temporary or permanent loss of the access privilege to Wi-Fi network and usually will result in immediate loss of access privilege of Wi-Fi network and will be reported to the appropriate University personnel. - Users should read the Best Practices For Accessing Public Wi-Fi Service and also take extra cautions when using the Wi- Fi service. - User have the right to contact/email ICT in case some URLs are accidently block. ICT Rights and Responsibilities ICT is responsible for the design, operation and management of Wi-Fi network, including provision of security measures at the network level. In the event of severe network problem which arises from the Wi-Fi network user's computer system and causing severe damage to the University user community, ICT has the right to terminate the network connection of the user's computer system without making prior notice to the user. ICT has the responsibility to provide advance notice of Wi-Fi network unavailability due to regular maintenance, upgrades or changes so that Wi-Fi network users may plan for their works. However, in the event of an emergency, the ICT has the right to shut down the whole or partial Wi-Fi network with little or no advance notification. Every effort will be made to give users a chance to save their work before the Wi-Fi network is taken out of service. In the event that a Wi-Fi network connected computer presents an immediate security risk to equipment, software or data in campus network, ICT has the right to terminate this connection without prior notice. Get Started: MUST-CONNECT/MUST STUDENT CONNECT WIRELESS ACCESS The service is simple and easy to use. 1. Simply set your computing device to search for available WIFI networks. 2. Find the network called must-connect/must student connect. 3. Connect to MUST-CONNECT/MUST STUDENT CONNECT 4. Open a browser. 5. Follow the self-registration instructions @ wifi.must.edu.ph/register 6. Use temporary account provided while account is being activated(within 24hrs)
