The 2011 AACCUP Program Accreditation opened at the Audio-Visual Center of MUST on December 8 at 8AM.
The MUST President, Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras, gave the welcome message. He said that there were many reasons to be happy. One is because Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, executive director of AACCUP is retiring, thus may now have more time to attend to upgrading the quality of education in many schools; and another is that the trustworthy men and women of MUST have prepared well for this year’s accreditation.
He recalled how difficult it is to submit for accreditation for he himself is an accreditor. He thus was so thankful to the accreditation team for their coming. He hoped in his final note that the accreditors would find the preparations worthy for their approval.
Dr. Ruth G. Cabahug, vice president for academic affairs, likewise presented the university officials to the accreditation team. After the Accreditors had their part of introduction, the Local Accreditation Committee as well were introduced. Over-all chairperson for the College of Arts and Sciences was Engr. Virginia D. Suarez; for the College of Engineering and Architecture was Engr. Mary Ann C. Emmanuel; for the College of Industrial and Information Technology was Ms. Maricel A. Esclamado; and for the College of Policy Studies, Education and Management was Engr. Theresa M. Fajardo.
Ms. Jessica Daug as emcee, brilliantly facilitated the many parts of the opening program, while Dr. Ruel R. Cabahug, director for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Services, made sure everything went well as planned.
